SSC One Time Registration 2025: Step-by-Step Guide for New Users [Official Process]

✅ Step-by-Step Guide to SSC One Time Registration (OTR) – 2025 Updated

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has introduced a new One Time Registration (OTR) system through its updated website https://ssc.gov.in. If you’re planning to apply for exams like SSC MTS, CHSL, CGL, GD, or others, completing your OTR is the first and most crucial step. This detailed guide will walk you through the entire process, ensuring you don’t miss anything important.

🔗 Step 1: Visit the Official SSC Website

Start by visiting the official SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in. This is the only platform where official OTR and application processes take place. Be cautious of fake or unofficial sites.

On the homepage, look at the top-right corner for the “Login / Register” option. Click it.

If you are registering for the first time, click on “Register Now” to begin the OTR process.

📋 Step 2: Fill in the One Time Registration (OTR) Form

The form consists of multiple sections that need to be filled out carefully. Ensure all data matches your official documents like the 10th marksheet, Aadhaar card, etc.

🔹 A. Personal Details:

  1. Full Name: Enter your full name exactly as printed on your Class 10 certificate.

  2. Date of Birth: Use the DD/MM/YYYY format. Make sure it’s accurate.

  3. Gender: Select Male, Female, or Others.

  4. Father’s Name & Mother’s Name: As per official records.

  5. Identity Details:

    • Choose any one: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License.

    • Enter the ID number and upload a scanned copy if required.

🔹 B. Educational Details:

  1. 10th Class Details:

    • Board Name

    • Year of Passing

    • Roll Number

  2. Highest Qualification:

    • Choose from: 10th, 12th, Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduation, etc.

    • Mention the name of the institution and year of passing.

Note: Keep your original certificates ready for reference. Avoid any spelling mistakes.

🔹 C. Contact Information:

  1. Mobile Number:

    • Must be active. An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent for verification.

  2. Email ID:

    • Also needs to be verified via OTP. Ensure you enter a correct and accessible email.

Once verified, these credentials will be linked permanently with your SSC profile.

🔐 Step 3: Set Your Password

You’ll be prompted to create a secure password to access your SSC account.

Password Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters

  • Must include:

    • At least one uppercase letter (A–Z)

    • At least one lowercase letter (a–z)

    • At least one numeric digit (0–9)

    • At least one special character (@, #, $, etc.)

You will also be asked to set two security questions (e.g., “What is your mother’s birthplace?” or “What was your first school’s name?”) which will help in case you forget your password.

🏠 Step 4: Enter Your Address Details

You need to enter both:

  1. Permanent Address

  2. Current Residential Address

These details include:

  • House Number

  • Street/Locality

  • City/Village

  • Post Office

  • District

  • State/UT

  • Pin Code

Ensure accuracy, especially in the PIN Code and district, as this can affect your examination center preferences later.

♿ Step 5: Fill in Disability (if applicable)

If you are a person with disability (PwD), you must:

  • Select the type of disability

  • Mention the percentage (if applicable)

  • Provide the Certificate Number issued by a competent authority

Supporting documents may need to be uploaded in the later stages.

✅ Step 6: Declaration and Preview

Before submission, you will see a preview of your entire application. This is your chance to cross-check all the details you’ve entered.

Declaration:

  • Confirm that all the information provided is true and correct.

  • Any mismatch or false data can lead to cancellation of candidature or legal action.

If everything looks good, click on “Submit”.

🔐 Step 7: Registration Number and Password

Once your OTR is successfully submitted:

  • Your Registration Number will be generated.

  • A temporary auto-generated password will be sent to your mobile number and email ID.

You will need both to log in to the SSC dashboard.

🔁 Step 8: Change Your Password and Log In

During your first login, the system will ask you to change the default password. Set a strong, memorable password.

Once done, you’ll enter the candidate dashboard where you can:

  • Apply for exams (MTS, CHSL, CGL, etc.)

  • View application status

  • Download admit cards

  • Track results and scorecards

⏳ Important Notes:

  • If you begin the OTR process but do not complete it within 14 days, your partially filled data will be automatically deleted.

  • You can edit your existing registration until 31st May 2025 only. After that, it becomes final.

  • Do not register more than once. Multiple registrations can lead to disqualification.
