Indian Forest Service Exam 2016 Notification : Apply for 110 Posts

Job Details

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has notified for Indian Forest Service Exam 2016. The examination is held every year for vacancies to be filled for Group ‘A’ officers in Indian Forest Service. The number of vacancies to be filled on the result of the examination is expected to be approximately 110. Eligible candidates may apply before 27 May 2016 till 11.59 PM.

Note: Candidates applying for Indian Forest Service examination should note that they are required to appear in the Civil Services (Preliminary) examinaton and qualify the same for going to the second stage of Indian Forest Service (Main) examination (written and interview).

  • Starting Date of Online Application: 27 April 2016
  • Last Date of Online Application: 27 May 2016 til 11.59 PM
  • Date of Preliminary Examination: 07 August 2016
  • Date of Main Examination: December 2016

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognised university.
Age Limits: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2016 i.e., he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1984 and not later than 1st August, 1995.
  • The upper age-limit prescribed above is relaxable as per Government Norms (Read Detailed Notification)

Maximum Number of Attempts: 6 (For General Category). Number of attempts is relaxed for reserved category.

Selection Process: Selection will be done on the basis of Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Interview.

Exam Pattern:
The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages-
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination; and
(ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of
candidates for the Indian Forest Service.

Candidates who will be declared by the Commission to have qualified for admission to t

he Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination will have to apply again, in the Online Detailed Application Form which would be made available on the Website of the Commission after declaration of Results of Preliminary Examination. The Main Examination is likely to be held in November, 2016.

 Application Fee:
  • For General and OBC: Rs 100/-
  • For all other: Nil

Note: The applicants are advised to submit only single application; however, if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/she must ensure that application with the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants’ details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.
